 Listen Up! Report 2025

Switchboard, the national LGBTQIA+ support line, has published its annual "Listen Up! Report," providing key insights into the LGBTQIA+ community based on over 17,000 conversations in 2025.

The 2025 report reveals growing demand for LGBTQIA+ support services, with more than 17,000 conversations handled during the year - a rise of over 20% compared with 2024.

The data highlights significant concerns around mental health, which featured in nearly one in five conversations, alongside the continuing impact of barriers faced by trans and gender-diverse people.

Conversations relating to gender identity accounted for almost a quarter of all contacts, while a 33% surge in conversations recorded in April reflected the profound effect of the UK Supreme Court ruling on the definition of sex.

The report also demonstrates Switchboard’s reach across the UK, supporting people of all ages, with the majority of service users aged between 18 and 40.
