Listen Up! Report 2024
Switchboard, the national LGBTQIA+ support line, has published its annual "Listen Up! Report," celebrating its 50-year history and providing key insights into the LGBTQIA+ community based on over 14,000 conversations in 2024.
To further amplify the voices and needs of the LGBTQIA+ community, Switchboard has released its annual insights report, Listen Up!. This report offers a powerful deep dive into over 14,000 conversations handled by Switchboard volunteers throughout 2024, providing vital insight into the experiences of LGBTQIA+ people in the UK.
Since its founding in 1974, Switchboard has served as a vital resource, providing a safe and supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals to explore topics, ranging from sexuality and gender identity to mental health, relationships, and more. With over 4 million conversations facilitated by dedicated volunteers over the last five decades, Switchboard continues to provide empathetic support and essential information.
Switchboard CEO, Stephanie Fuller, outlines: “Operating nationally, Switchboard has supported the LGBTQIA+ community for more than 50 years through some of our darkest and most challenging times, including police raids, the HIV/AIDS crisis, and Section 28. Established by the community, for the community, we have learned time and again that we are stronger and more resilient when we stand together. We share this report annually as an important reflection of the experiences, hopes, and fears of the LGBTQIA+ community in the UK.”
